Mesa County (population 154,210 as of 2019) is located in the Grand Valley on the Western Slope of Colorado and it’s county seat is Grand Junction. Mesa County is the only metropolitan area in Colorado not located on the Front Range (east of the Rocky Mountains). Mesa County was named for the many large mesas in the area including the Grand Mesa, the largest flat-topped mountain in the world.
When it comes to the style of homes, Mesa County has a little bit of everything. Every community offers something unique, but the common thread in the towns on the Western Slope is access to amazing landscapes and plenty of outdoor adventures without the crowds of the Front Range. Surrounded by three major mountain ranges, the Colorado National Monument to the south, the Book Cliffs to the north and the Grand Mesa to the east, the weather is mild and temperate with all four seasons, mild in the spring and fall, warm in the summers and cold in the winter.
