October 8th-10th Grand Valley Open Studio Tours @10am-4pm 

Twenty-five Grand Valley fine artists are opening the doors of their private studios. Discover hidden nooks and amazing views of the Grand Valley. Visit places you didn’t dream existed, enter private sanctuaries of artistic creativity, impressive home galleries, and witness in-progress demonstrations. Expand your knowledge and appreciation of our art community. Maps/brochures are available online and at local galleries.

October 9th @9am-3pm Fall Day on the Farm

Celebrate fall harvest at Cross Orchards Historic Site. 

The cider presses will be working hard as we process our Cross Orchards apples into fresh cider available for sale. Explore an array of local vendors from farm stands and artisans to local non profit resources.  Enjoy lunch at one of the local food trucks and spend time wandering museum exhibits including the Swanson exhibit, woodshop, railcars, and historic bunkhouse.  A variety of performances and interactive games will take place throughout the day including train rides and docent led hayrides.

October 16th @ 3:00pm-6:00pm Spooky Downtown Pub Crawls 

Who was murdered in your favorite downtown pub? Get in the spooky season spirit with a walking pub tour with local historian Dave Bailey.

Join award winning historian and author Dave Bailey on a spooky tour of downtown Grand Junction with stops at 3 local pubs. This walking tour will explore the early and colorful history where the pubs have taken up residence.

Participants will visit 3 local establishments and can partake of their favorite beverage at each stop (please limit to one beverage per establishment). In between stops, tour participants will learn about the mysteries and murders of early downtown Grand Junction. All participants must be 21 years of age.

Members: $35, Non Members: $40

Ticket price includes an appetizer at the first stop as well as the guided tour, no drinks are included.

October 22nd-Oct 24th Absolute Dance Presents Alice’s Wonderland

Alices Wonderland Ballet, presented by Absolute Dance & Performing Arts, will be the family performance to attend. Take an incredible, magical journey with Alice when you tumble down the Rabbit Hole to discover Alices Wonderland to meet memorable characters such as the Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dee and Dum, the Mad Hatter, and more. Performances will be held at The Historic Avalon Theatre Friday, October 22nd, 7:00 pm, Saturday, October 23rd, 2:00 pm, and 7:00 pm, and our final showing on Sunday, October 24th at 2:00 pm. This full-length ballet is a charming interpretation of Lewis Carrolls classic tale, Alices Adventures in Wonderland, with additional influences from Through the Looking Glass. Absolute Dance Company in collaboration with Infinity Media Productions for animated digital background effects will give you and your family the sense of truly being a part of Alices magical journey in this two-act ballet. Doors open one hour before showtime.

October 23rd @3pm-5pm | Halloween Spooktacular 

Downtown Grand Junction Main Street between 3rd and 7th Street

Calling all kiddos! Come Downtown for a fun afternoon of trick-or-treating, activities, performances, and more! Spooktacular will take place on October 23 from 3:00-5:00pm. Main Street will be closed for this event for the safety of the kids, so be sure to budget a little extra time to navigate the street closure and to find parking.

October 28th-30th | Fall at the Gardens 

Spectacular lighted pumpkin sculptures created by renowned artists and carvers from Food Network’s “Outrageous Pumpkins” featuring: Willy Tuz along with Jess Parrish, Brandy Davis, Giselle Poserio, Dean Arnold Monique Hawk, David Smith, Tom Lindskog and Danny Kissel, 2020 winner of Food Network’s “Outrageous Pumpkins”
